Craftsbury Shimano EFTA Mountain Bike Race

We're stoked to host an EFTA Vermont stop for the third straight year. As has become habit, we have more trails for you to race on than the last time you were here. We've added another couple k, bringing us up to around a 6 mile lap featuring the full spectrum of New England riding from machine built flow to hand-hewn, rooty gnar.

We have races for the wee to masters, and everyone in between. You can find out more about start times, entry fees, course layout and more at the race page, or go check out the event at Bikereg and get signed up.

C'mon up, race bikes on Saturday, then go ride long at Kingdom Trails on Sunday, keep heading north and cheer on Lea et al at Mt. St. Anne, or just check out our neighbors at the General StoreC Village StorePete's Greens or Hill ...

Matching Donations Being Accepted to the Kathy Wright Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Craftsbury Outdoor Center is excited to announce that an anonymous donor has recently pledged to match up to $5,000 in donations to the junior scholarship fund. The fund is being renamed the Kathy Wright Memorial Scholarship Fund in honor of Kathy Wright, a member of our community who passed away in March 2016.

Craftsbury believes that access to the sport of cross country skiing should not be restricted by income. Skiing is an expensive sport, but we are lucky to be part of an amazing community that shares our vision of access and affordability. Scholarships are made possible by the generosity of many families that support the Outdoor Center, and go towards offsetting the costs of ski programs or race/camp travel for Craftsbury junior and BKL skiers in need.

GRP at USRA Club Nats

Last week, July 11-17, was the USRowing Club Nationals in Cincinnati, OH. This year, it included all of the elite events that, in previous years, have been held as a separate regatta.

GRP scullers John Graves, Parker Washburn, Maddie Lips, and Liz Vogt drove down for the week to compete in elite men’s single, women’s double, and women’s single. Parker attended as the “team manager,” a pivotal job for the week, as Troy Howell and Greg Myhr traveled with the SBTC and Hugh to the U23/Senior World’s trials (which are in progress at the moment).

It was a successful week for all of the GRP members. John, one of Cincinnati’s own hometown heroes, won the elite single and 500m dash, racing against the 2016 Indian olympic, single sculler and the 2012 Mexican olympic, single ...

After having to cancel last week's race due to weather, we were quite happy that this week's race went off without a hitch! Just a few housekeeping notes… If you cross the line in a pack, please check in with the timers so we can ensure that we have the correct finish order and bib numbers. Also, even if you're a returning racer and have a bib, please check in at registration so we can include you on the start list. Thanks!!
