GRP Biathlon at World Cup & US Champs

Last weekend marked the season finale for American biathletes both at home and abroad (...that is, until Craftsbury's Spring Super Sprint Biathlon Race!). Hannah Dreissigacker and Susan Dunklee were the lone female members of a selective US contingent competing at World Cup 9 in in Khanty-Mansiysk, Siberia, Russia, while Clare Egan and Mike Gibson represented the GRP at US Biathlon National Championships in Truckee, California.

In Friday's World Cup sprint, Hannah Dreissigacker led team USA with a new personal best result of 14th place, missing just one single shot in prone. Susan Dunklee suffered four misses on the range, but skied the fifth-fastest course time to finish 26th. In Saturday's pursuit competition, both US women missed five shots, which caused Hannah to slide back to ...

Now accepting Summer '15 SBTC Applications

We're pleased to announce that we are now accepting applications for our Small Boats Training program (SBTC). SBTC is a summer program designed to be a bridge from collegiate rowing to the US National Team, with a focus on smaller boats. The immediate goal of the program is to put together small boats to compete at U23 World Trials - a goal the program has accomplished in every year of its existence so far.

We plan on serving around 4-6 athletes during 2015. We have an open and continuous rolling admissions policy, but we encourage all applicants for the summer program to have applications in by May 1 with acceptances starting by April 1.

The program offers coaching, equipment, room/board and travel support. Rowers may compete in races such as U23 World Trials, Senior Nationals, ...

DATE CHANGE: Volunteer/Landowner Cookout - March 28th

UPDATE:  We've moved the cookout to Saturday, March 28. All other details remain the same.

It's been an unforgettable winter, full of great snow, excellent conditions, events, and racing we're all sure to be talking about well into the future. One key ingredient in this winter (and the other 39 winters we've been a part of)? Our volunteers and trail landowners! Craftsbury in Cali: 2015 JNs

Editor’s note: We’ve been avidly following the progress of our three Craftsbury Juniors at the 2015 Junior National Championships. We reached out to Callie Young, Craftsbury U16 racer, to give us the recap of the event below. Thanks Callie and congrats to all our '15 Junior Nationals competitors.

Last week, Orli Schwartz, Phoebe Sweet, and I (Callie Young) headed for Truckee, California to compete at Junior Nationals. We left on the 6th and got home on the 16th. The weather in Truckee on most days was in the 60s and sunny making for some very slushy snow. The altitude also posed a challenge for skiers like us who had never raced at altitude.

The first race we had was a skate sprint where the top 30 people in each class qualified for the heats. It was a pleasant and sunny, but not ...
