Tuesday Races at Craftsbury

Building on the success of our summer race series, we're excited to offer skiers a weekly race series, beginning Tuesday, January 8 - with a new twist! We will offer both a traditional race option and a self-timed version - both counting toward the overall points series, just like the summer. The traditional race option begins with registration at 3:30pm, and races kicking off at 4:00pm. Races will be primarily mass start, with some interval starts thrown in for good measure - varying over the course of the season.
The self-timed category allows those whose schedules don't permit them to participate in our regularly scheduled event an opportunity to join the fun. Show up on any of the event Tuesdays, check in with the Touring Center to get your timecard and a bib, race the marked course of the week, and record your technique and time using the clock in the timing shed (the timing shed will also mark the start/finish). Results will be merged and posted the next day on our website for both categories. Just like the summer, we will offer season long prizes for both overall and age group results.
The series kicks off with a 5k freestyle race on the 8th, with techniques, race format and course alternating each week (keep watching the website for a detailed schedule, or drop a line to John Brodhead). No matter how you race the event, it's free if you're a Craftsbury member, otherwise your day membership covers your entry. Come join the fun! |
