Volunteering at Craftsbury 13-14
Last Updated: 30.Oct.2013
Winter is coming! We’re hoping for a good old-fashioned snowy one. We’ve got a number of exciting races on the schedule for this winter, and we wanted to give all our dedicated volunteers an early look at the calendar in hopes that you’ll be able to join us for some or all of these events.
And as small tokens of thanks, we are working on putting together a few items of winter wear to keep you warm, make you more recognizable as a volunteer. If you expect to be able to help out with at least two of these race weekends, we will keep you even warmer!! Please let us know of your interest and your top size so we can appropriately recognize your contributions.
December 21-22: NENSA Eastern Cup Opener—this race weekend kicks off the New England season. There will be a skate sprint on Saturday and a classic distance race on Sunday.
February 7-9: SuperTour/Dartmouth Carnival—we’re especially excited to welcome the national SuperTour race series back to New England. It will be combined with the Dartmouth Carnival races for 3 days of racing with a top-notch US/Canadian field expected.
March 14-16: Craftsbury GRP Spring Mini-Tour—this will be our 3rd year running this low-key, high-caliber spring race weekend.
We realize it’s early, but if you can let us know whether you think you’ll be able to help, and for how many events, that would be helpful. Please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org.
…and who can forget: the 33rd Craftsbury Marathon, Saturday Feb 1: We plan to run a point-to-point course from Highland Lodge if conditions allow. As in past years, volunteers are invited to raise funds for their club or non-profit organization. Read more and sign up at www.volunteerlocal.com.
Thanks very much for sharing your time with us as we show off your home trails to the Nordic ski world this winter!
