GMH Finishing Camp
06.Sep.2009 It's a bit short notice, but we'd like to extend an opportunity for interested rowers (especially those planning on attending the Green Mountain Head Race): a finishing camp prior to the GMH this September.
The camp will begin Thursday, September 24 through the finish of the Green Mountain Head itself in Putney that Sunday, the 27th. This race prep camp is for:
-Scullers who have been sculling regularly for 2 or more years
-Scullers who would feel comfortable turning a buoy at the 1.5 mile mark and sculling in traffic.
You do not need race experience but you will need to feel comfortable in a race environment.
Race prep campers will be assigned technique focused workouts, training pieces, drills to practice rowing at speed in traffic, as well as turning the stake. There will be discussions about training for head racing, dealing with pre-race logistics and racing over the course.
Fees will cover room, board, shell to use during camp, plus trailering and shell use during the regatta if necessary. The tuition is $655, though campers already registered for our 6 day camp (Sept. 20-25) can add the prep camp for only $300. Similarly, registered participants for the standard weekend camp (Sept. 25-27) can add the race prep programming for a mere $70!
Concerned you aren't registered for the GMH? We've secured four additional spots that we can allocate to participants in this program, so don't let that stop you.
