Elderhostel Winter 2008
The Craftsbury Outdoor Center has a unique Nordic Ski Center in Vermont's unspoiled Northeast Kingdom. The snow generally falls early and remains late because we sit high in the hills of Vermont's snow belt. Whether you are a seasoned veteran or a first-time skier, our outstanding ski instructors will teach to your ability level. Explore over 100 kilometers of expertly groomed and tracked ski trails and an extensive snowshoe trail network.
Accommodations
Our dorm style lodges and home-style all-you-can-eat meals with a vegetarian option always available will make you feel at home. Our community lounge, kitchen, weight room, sauna and masseuse will help create a home away from home. Most of our accommodations are shared baths, however, you can upgrade to a private bath, suite or cabin if desired.

North Country Film Festival

View North Country Films which range from short documentaries about Vermont
history to excerpts from the daring exploits of silent film stars and expert
skiers in snow country. Choices of evening films include favorite comedies
about Vermont to high adventure in the glaciers of the Swiss Alps. With the
exception of the Vermont comedies back by request, the films shown will be
for the first time. Enjoy cross country skiing on our well maintained
trails. Our trails are wide, expertly maintained and groomed daily for
classical and skate ski techniques. Whether your goal is physical training,
or discovering Vermont's scenic treasures, we provide extensive terrain and
expert instruction to suit every skiers ability.

Experience the living history and character of traditional country-dance and
song through dancing and singing. Both old and new songs and dances from New
England and beyond will be accompanied by guitar, banjo, and fiddle. Some
dances will be traced back to Western European roots. Anyone who plays a
musical instrument is encouraged to bring it along and join in. Enjoy cross

"Art Without a Critic"

Everyone's an artist! Leave behind your inner critic as we lead you in a
variety of visual art projects. Experiment with an assortment of media
including tempera paint, chalk pastels, paper mache and bamboo. Learn to
make functional bamboo lanterns or beautiful hand bound books. Build a
shrine with paper mache and cardboard or explore the world or water colors.
Get your hands dirty in good company. For a change of pace enjoy cross
country skiing on our well maintained trails. Our consistent snow and
friendly instructors make the Craftsbury skiing experience. The trails are
wide, expertly maintained and groomed daily for classical and skate ski
techniques. Experienced instructors provide easy to follow advice to skiers
of all abilities.
