The evenings are getting cooler, the nighttime comes earlier and earlier, and the first hints of color dapple some of the forest - fall is on its way.
Craftsbury celebrates the arrival of the cooler seasons by offering special rates and activities. Beginning September 18 until October 15, the Center will be offering Fall Foliage rates in addition to our usual, full american plan rates. These reduced Foliage rates will include breakfast, as well as access to our on-site facilities:
- 2.25 mile long Big Hosmer Lake
- Waterfront with canoes and kayaks - use for free as part of your stay!
- Fitness room and Sauna
- 20k of mountain bike singletrack and many more trails to explore - whether on foot or bike.
- Mountain bikes for rent
- Tennis Court
- Lawn sports
During your stay you can take advantage of a whole host of self-guided activities that the Center and Kingdom have to offer, or join us for the guided activity of the day. Activities include:
- Naturalist guided walks
- Guided bike tours to local areas of interest
- Canoe and kayak instruction and exploration
- Introduction to Sculling
- Cidermaking
- Local Farm visits
- Evening speakers
- Yoga instruction
- Nordic Walking instruction
- Visits to the local sites of historical significance - Old Stone House and Babcock House
- Visits to local artisans
...and more. While fall is beautiful, it is often fickle, so our daily guided activity will be selected to best suit the expected weather of the day.
So whether you come to relax, or as a base for your own explorations of the Northeast Kingdom, we can affordably provide you with comfortable lodging, starting at $62/night. But hurry, because just like the colorful Vermont foliage, these special rates will only be around for only a short time.
Fall Foliage rates are valid Sept. 18 - Oct. 15, 2009, and include breakfast as well as free access to our wide variety of recreational options.
