GRP on the World Cup
28.Nov.2011 The Green Racing Project's Ida Sargent and Susan Dunklee are currently representing the United States on the World Cup in Scandinavia. Ida, in her inaugural year with the US Ski Team, raced to a season best 37th place in the 10km classic stage of the 3 day 'Ruka Triple' stage race in Kuusamo, Finland last weekend. This result nearly matched her career best 33rd in the classic sprint at the same venue last year. Sargent finished 38th overall in the event, fourth among Americans in one of their strongest international showings ever as a group with Kikkan Randall, Holly Brooks, and Liz Stephen finishing 6th, 23rd, and 35th respectively. Sargent will continue her European tour with the National Team in Dusseldorf, Germnay for two sprint events next weekend. Susan, across the border in Oestersund, Sweden, saw some IBU Cup action last weekend as well where she led a small American contingent with a 42nd place, good enough to earn her a start in the World Cups that begin this week in the Swedish Biathlon capitol. Dunklee, a member of the USBA B Team, missed three targets but was quick enough on the track to secure her World Cup berth for the World Cup Openers. Stay tuned for more Green Racing Project results from Europe. Full results: Kuusamo Oestersund
