In addition to comfortable lodging and excellent skiing, we offer annual members great ski training and coaching. For winter 2012-13, we have an array of opportunities for skier members of all ages to train, learn technique, improve - and just have a blast on snow all winter long!

Catamounts - Introductory Kids' Skiing

Catamounts

Ages 6-12, meets 2x/week (Wednesday afternoon and Saturday), $50/season for the whole program, $25/season for weekends only - December to March. This program aims to build enthusiasm for nordic skiing through ski play and skill development. Participants will learn both skating and classical techniques with lots of fun and games! Don't have ski equipment? No problem - equipment use is included in the program fee.

Bill Koch

BKL

Up to grade 8, meets 3x/week (Monday and Wednesday afternoons and Saturday), $50/season for the whole program, $25/season for weekends only - December to March. A program for kids who have skied a season or two and are interested in getting a bit more instruction and technique work. This is a good group for kids interested in doing some BKL races, as well as just having fun and developing skills through play.

Bill Koch Racing

BKL

Ages 8-12, meets 3x/week (Monday afternoons, Saturday and Sunday), $75/end of November to May. Kids ages 8-12 who will be racing at most BKL races this year and also racing at the BKL festival in March. Program is geared for skiers who already have at least 2 seasons under their belt, and have raced previously. This group will be coached by Jeremy Nellis with the help of GRP members. Some equipment is available for skiers that aren't currently outfitted.

Junior Racing

Juniors

Kids 13 & up, meets 4x/week (Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, Saturday and Sunday mornings), $150/end of November to May. Training for experienced skiers, 2nd year J3's through 18 year olds who want a competitive focus. Training will prepare skiers to race High School races, Eastern Cups, Junior Olympic Qualifiers, Eastern High School and J2 Championships. Some equipment is available. This group will be coached by Jeremy Nellis, with assistance as needed from Pepa.

School Groups

Juniors

Groups of kids from area schools can come ski for free on our professionally maintained trails through our school groups program. Equipment and introductory instruction is also provided free of charge. Helping promote Nordic skiing and making it accessible to the local public is an important part of our mission. School teachers and administrators are encouraged to contact us to learn more about this great opportunity.

Competitive Masters Racer Training

Masters

Designed for masters skiers who plan to do some amount of racing. Coaches will include Jeremy Nellis, Pepa Miloucheva, and John Brodhead, with technique clinics weekly on Wednesdays from 2:00-3:00pm. Technique of the week matches the weekly series race. Fees: $30 per session, or $100 covers the entire series from December through March.

Adult Recreational Ski Group

Adult Recreational Ski Group

Are you an adult looking to improve as a skier and ski with new people? Come join in our new program, recreational skiing for masters. Starting January 9, the group will meet Wednesdays at 3:30pm for about an hour. Before setting out on the tour, participants will be lead through some drills, instruction, or given a focus or theme for the day. Each day's route wil be determined by the conditions, participant abilities and the skier's energy on a given day. The Touring Center's Katie Black will be the primary leader of the group, with guest appearances by a variety of Center staff through the winter.
