2011 Farm & Food Bike Tour
09.Aug.2011 Hope you'll join us on Saturday August 20 for the second annual Farm & Food Bike Tour! We're hosting two un-timed dirt-road bike tours, both part of the full weekend's worth of events - the Kingdom Farm & Food Days.
The shorter route (approx 15 miles) that allows time for more farm visits and a longer version (33 miles) for those interested in seeing more of Vermont's working landscape at a quicker clip. Both tours will pass local farms and other points of interest along the way, with opportunities for riders to stop and explore. The ride culminates with a festive meal at Pete's Greens at Craftsbury Village Farm with live music starting at 4:00pm.
Entry includes feeds, a mechanical follow vehicle, farm visits, the end of ride meal at Pete's Greens and a tour of Pete's facilities with Pete Johnson himself! All ride proceeds benefit the Center for an Agricultural Economy in Hardwick, the local non-profit working to build healthy food systems for both consumers and producers.
