Points will be tallied over the course of the season, at which point age/gender group winners will be named.
For the cumulative series scoring, each race will be scored by points determined by the number of participants. E.g. the winner of a race with 10 people attending would receive 10 points, second place 9 and so forth.
Points based on overall position in a race will be used for the cumulative scoring (as just described). E.g. third woman overall, first age 30-39 crosses the line in 10th place out of 20 total racers. Her score toward the cumulative ranking is 11 points, based on the 10th place overall finish, NOT based on her age or gender position.
The age groups that will be used for the cumulative season tally: 15 and under, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, and so forth up to the 10 year age group that holds our oldest participants.
