Summer 5km Series a Wrap
05.Sep.2011 On Wednesday the Outdoor Center hosted our final 5km trail run of the summer. With 28 participants, the week was on par with the rest of the 12 race series where we averaged almost 30 racers each week, with a good mix of folks coming from the greater community and Craftsbury Outdoor Center programming. Over the course of the summer we lucked out with almost perfect weather each evening, and a core group of weekly racers.
Lisa Schlenker (Craftsbury) and Todd Taska (Lowell) took the overall series titles respectively and each a pair of Salomon Crossmax Trail shoes. This is the second year in a row Salomon has sponsored both our summer 5km series and our 15km trail race; we are grateful for their support. Of particular note was Schlenker's 188 points amassed over the season. She missed only one of the 12 races.
We'd like to thank campers and community members alike for coming out and enjoying the trail network at Craftsbury in the summer too. We'll look forward to seeing you again soon! Full Results of this race and the 2011 Season
