Scull news item: Demos-plosion: Hudson, Wintech, Croker12.Jul.2007 We've gotten some additions to our demo fleet. Hudson sent us two boats: mid and heavy versions of their new Great White 1x hull, in the sport and elite constructions respectively. The new design is not one of those things that is easy to photograph, so I don't have too many telling pictures. However, it's a pretty thorough redesign of the hull around the ideas of increased comfort and stability while maintaining speed. Definitely something to check out. Some of the bigger changes:
There are lots more refinements - it's really a new boat. Wintech supplied us with an open water boat as well as a flat water race single. The International single we received has their aluminum wing and can fit lightweights up to 160lbs. Nice details like the carbon seat complement a solid boat with laminated sandwich construction. The Explorer 21 is an open water shell. The model we have is the carbon/glass build, with a qr aluminum rigger. While some people may see it as a beginner boat, it too has the carbon seat, and a little narrower profile than some of the boats in its class. Croker has again sent us some sculls: two pairs of their soft S2 shafts with the full slick blade and mounted with their yellow grips. Croker has been causing a stir with the inroads they've made in American racing, now you can try them. |
