More Boats

15.Apr.2008

Spring's coming to the Center. No, not the daffodils or other flowers yet - boats! This weekend was our Maas shipment:  Flys, Aeros and 24s. Today we expect to see Coach Peter Figgins of UVM with a Kaschper Raven MW 1x in tow as well.

I also included a couple of shots of the remaining snow. You can see the pile from the roof in the second picture down, as well as the marooned launches and a view from the right hand dock (which itself is under a foot of snow).

Fear not, this'll all be gone well in advance of the season opening. We've made great progress already, melting feet of snow the first week of April. Temperatures are supposed to climb this week into next, so still more will be done by the time we'll be ready for all of our guests.

Images at left:

From Top:
 - Maas boats
 - The snow banks around the boathouse - nearly 6 feet!
 - The white jet on our new hudson four. It's still nice to go down to the boathouse and dream...
 - The view from the dining hall veranda out into the cove
 - The launches, waiting for a little more help from the sun
 - The view from the right hand dock down toward the narrows
