US U23 LM2x joins SBTC

14.Jul.2010

It's worth noting one more crew will be joining the SBTC's trip to Brest, Belarus tomorrow - the US U23 LM2x of Alex Burjakowsky and Nick Trojan. They've been coached by another SBTC athlete, Peter Graves, but joined the program after their win at Mercer in last month's trials. Since their arrival, the California duo have experienced plenty of warm weather - even for northern Vermont - so hopefully they've felt right at home.

While the four SBTC crews will leave tomorrow, racing doesn't begin for another week, allowing time to acclimate to the time change and practice on the course before heats begin next Thursday. You can follow the U23 World Championships at FISA's website as well as coverage at row2k.

Closer to home, SBTC 1x sculler John Hood is competing at USRowing's club nationals. He finished second in his heat today and now races tomorrow at 4:17 to advance. Follow his progress here.

Best of luck to all the SBTC athletes!
