Workout of the week series
We mentioned this in the last eNews, but if you haven't been following along, check the entries out now. We'll be starting a head racing series before too long, so you may want to keep it bookmarked.
Upcoming events
July has a number of new camp length options: a shortened holiday week camp and two full week (7 day/6 night) camps. Check them out.
It's bittersweet to acknowledge, but fall is on its way. We're celebrating the season this year with our Fall Foliage and Sculling sessions. These sessions are timed to coincide with what is regularly the peak of color in Vermont and offer more opportunities to explore off campus - as well as the excellent sculling instruction. Why not join us at the end of September for one last hurrah? Camp schedule is here.
Oar Sale 2010
We mentioned our boats for sale in the last issue, but we've added sculls to the list as well. Check them out for a good deal on great equipment.
New Coaches
In addition to many familiar faces, we're happy to say that some new folks will be joining us this summer, including a World Champion, author, former national team member and more! Read about our new coaches.
Video
As those who visited us last summer know, Coach Lisa Schlenker had several GoPro video cameras that she was filming with. Fleet Manager Troy Howell has taken an interest and compiled some footage, from the deck as well as from overhead.
Wifi
Craftsbury has taken a step into the digital age: the Center now offers free wifi to its guests in all accommodations on campus. Read more.
Twitter
In a related note, the Center has also started a Twitter stream. We've just launched it recently, but beyond sharing many of the larger events that happen here at the Center, we hope to use the platform to share some of the cool, more informal things that happen around here. You can follow us at twitter.com/crftsbryoutdoor
Results
We're pleased to have the 2010 SBTC U23 athletes with us, and they've begun racing. First at USRA Collegiate Nationals and as we write, at the US U23 Worlds' Team trials (good luck!). Additionally, some of the SBTCers who cross-trained with us this winter have been doing really well on the World Cup - congratulations guys! Click through above for the full scoop.
As always, here at the home office, we've been enjoying the weekly Head of the Hosmers - which you can find results for here.
That's the news from the home office. Hope your summer's getting off to a great start and you're out on the water as much as possible. We'll likely see some of you at this weekend's Black Fly Regatta, but hope that we can share a bit of our summer with all of you sometime this season.
On behalf of Norm, Kevin, Ric, Noel, Larry and Troy, as well as the rest of the CSC coaches and staff,
All the best,
