Craftsbury Director Named US Junior National Team Men's Coach

Fall Results (and raffle winners!)
It's been a busy fall for us. The SBTC have all sought sunnier climes, but not before a fall full of racing, including a third consecutive victory in the Men's Open 2x at the Head of the Charles Regatta! You can read some of the sculler's exploits at Green Mountain Head, Senior Trials, HOCR, Head of the Hooch and Trofeo Silver Skiff.
But we haven't just been racing, we've set up the Craftsbury booth (complete with cookies naturally) at several regattas as well. As always, it was great to see so many familiar faces stop by for a visit, snack and a chance to win a free week of camp. We're pleased to announce that Laura Henry and Caitlin Ryan will be joining us as winners of the free weeks of camp. They visited our booth at the Heads of the Oklahoma and Charles respectively. Congratulations!
What did you do last winter? The US men's LW 2x & several universities skied with us. Nordic skiing is great cross training for rowing - and now we're offering team discounts that make a stay at Craftsbury even more affordable. Enjoy our 85k of trails, brush up on your technique or try something new: you'll get a workout and a well-deserved break from the erg room. Come explore a different side of sculling camp! You can find some more details, or email firstname.lastname@example.org for the scoop.
Fall happenings around campus
While we enjoyed a quieter period this fall, we've taken the opportunity to make some improvements to the Center. We're working on another rack at the boathouse, purchasing some new boats, insulating the dining hall, improving the trails and reaping the benefits of a new solar installation (whose output you can track here). It's been a busy fall - and we're still hard at work on other improvements!
Rigging basics posted online
A website improvement to note - due to popular demand we've posted our rigging basics handout online. You can find it here.
Wintertime Sculling DIY Project: Recycling a shell and blade into a garden water feature.
Following an email exchange with Lynn Jennings (Craftsbury Running Camps' Director and current camper female Head of the Hosmer record holder) about a recent backyard project, I asked if she'd write up her work. She generously agreed and you can read the results here.
That's the news from the home office. Hope to see you over the next couple of months for some great Nordic skiing or sculling in the sunny south.
On behalf of Norm, Kevin, Ric, Noel, Larry and Troy, as well as the rest of the CSC coaches and staff,
