Beginning May 24, the 2013 edition of the Hosmer Community Rowing Club will meet Tuesdays and Fridays at the Craftsbury Outdoor Center's Boathouse on Big Hosmer Pond. Sessions will continue until September 27. Tuesday sessions will run from 5:45-7:15pm and Fridays from 2:00-3:30pm. To participate, we ask that all participants complete a waiver (parents will have to do this for those under 18), and be certain their Outdoor Center membership is current. (As a reminder, membership for Craftsbury and Albany residents is complimentary, but we ask that you complete the paperwork). The Sculling Club sessions are covered by a program fee of $50/person. Members can come try your first session FREE. If you elect to continue, please make payment of your fee prior to the next session.

All abilities are welcome. Scullers will learn primarily in the single. A participant's first session (whether you're joining us on May 24 or not) will feature a flip and recovery experience and a swimming test. After instruction, the recovery experience gives you the chance to demonstrate you can get back into a boat or swim it to shore in the event of capsizing. The swim test will ask scullers to demonstrate a basic ability to tread water, put on a life vest while in the water, as well as a short distance swim.

For those who will be joining us on the 24th, we ask that you first stop at the office to complete a waiver if you haven't downloaded and completed one already. Please contact the Center at 586-7767 or sculling@ craftsbury.com for more information.
