Junior Ski Practice

Distance with 3 sets of speeds or jumps. 3:30pm at the Center.

10-15min easy run to warm up.
5-8sec sprints or 5x uphill jumps/finish with one set of as many pushups as you can do.
5-10min easy run between sets.
Cool down.

It will be a continuous L1 to low L2 run on a loop on the ski trails.
Goal is to start doing continuous steady L1/2 distance workouts with just very short stops to refuel.

General Strength. 3:30pm at the Center. 

If you can't make it--
Warm up with 10-15min run or ski erg. 
Choose 5-6 exercises from the following: pushups, pull ups, sit ups, dips, back crunches, 2-legged squats holding a small weight in your hands, one-legged squats on the box, box jumps, setp ups holding a small weight, abs wheel.
Do 4/6 sets of as many reps as you can do.

J2/J1 Dryland Camp

Building on the success of our BKL daycamps, we're excited to offer our first residential Junior Ski Camp for J2 and J1 skiers (born in 1999 and earlier), this June 17th-21st. Camp will be located at the perfect setting of our sister organization, Hosmer Point.

2013 BKL Daycamp 1

The BKL camps are always some of the most memorable weeks of the year at Craftsbury, and we're sure this year will be no exception. This July 8-12 and August 5-9, skiers age 8-13 (up to/including skiers entering grade 8) will join us daily from 9am to 3pm at the Craftsbury Outdoor Center. The skiers will work hard, and play even harder!

There'll be lots of fun games, a variety of ski workouts, tons of opportunities to learn or improve skills like roller skiing, shooting with a real biathlon rifle, sculling, mountain biking, all capped by the traditional adventure race and pizza party at the end of the week.
