Feb. 13 weekend racing roundup
17.Feb.2010 This weekend, many of the skiers took a break, but college athletes competed in the Dartmouth Carnival at the Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe, and the GRP's Hannah Dreissigacker competed in biathlon NorAms in Lake Placid.
Ida Sargent swept the weekend of carnival action, winning Friday's 15k classic mass start as well as anchoring Dartmouth's winning 3x5k skate relay team. She helped Dartmouth to an overall win for the weekend. Former Craftsbury skier Johanna Ludington, skiing for Saint Lawrence, finished 23rd on Friday. Jake Barton finished 26th in the 20k classic on Friday, and anchored Colby's 7th-place relay team.
Hannah finished 5th in the pursuit in Lake Placid on Friday, with 3 penalties. In Saturday's pursuit, she moved up to 4th with 6 penalties. Mike Gibson, a former Craftsbury skier, won the junior men's race on Saturday.
