SkiErg Wrapup

19.Nov.2009

The first ever SkiErg World Sprints were held at Craftsbury, Saturday November 14, 2009. The event drew participants from both the Craftsbury Nordic Ski Club and the extended Northeast Vermont ski community. The age range of participants was also impressive, with the BKL contingent holding it down at one end and ageless wonder George Hall (74 years young) taking the honor of being the event's most experienced partipant. Fun was had by all. Some of the Koch'ers loved the 1k test so much they opted to do it twice, just for kicks.

17 year old Nick Hunter of Jericho, Vermont posted the fastest time of the day at Craftsbury with a 3:22.2. Close behind Nick was Concept 2's Greg Hammond, who muscled his way to a 3:22.5.

The fastest woman on the day was the Green Racing Project's own Ida Sargent, who set a PR with her 3:48.8. The rest of the women of the GRP were close behind her.

Complete worldwide results are available here on Concept2's website. Craftsbury Skiers stacked up pretty well!
