Prom Night at the Outdoor Center

The happy chaperones Pepa and Dan

When the skiers brought "Tie Tuesday" to the outdoor center a few weeks ago, the GRP stepped up to the challenge and looked great doing it. (Check out the pictures from the red carpet in last week's blog post) The question lingering after the inaugural event was what to do with all these fantastically good looking people for the next week?

The answer brought some people back to the glory days of high school and for others...well, it brought them back to high school prom. To make sure there was no awkwardness with getting dates on such short notice everybody's name got put into one gender-normative hat and pairings were called out in front of the entire group plus campers at dinner. The biggest curveball of the draft was when the last three names remaining were assigned together, with Steve, Lenny and Hugh making the third wheel cool as opposed to leaving a man behind.

Prom night came sooner than expected with all the drama you can expect. Alex Howe informed Lawrence Lopez that he would be wearing his girlfriend's black dress and he should dress to match, Pepa spent half the day practicing wearing heels and Ethan and Liz schemed to ride in on a tractor. But by the time the big event rolled around everything went off without a hitch. Kyle Lafferty and Liz Guiney stole the show with their surprise entrance on bicycle (bike and trail-a-bike), Dan and Pepa were great chaperones and the GRP as a whole looked stunning as you would expect. Check out some of the pictures from the festivities and stay tuned for this week's edition of "Tie Tuesday." No word yet as to what this week's theme is but it's sure gonna look great.
