Scenes From Masters Running Week
Masters running camp has come and gone and 23 happy runners are back home after a memorable week. We did it all and judging from the non-stop smiles and miles it's clear why the masters return each year. A loyal bunch, they have over 125 combined years of attendance! Achieving the 10 years of service milestone, Michael Whitson and Lawton Warzala were inducted into the Wall of Fame in a rousing ceremony on the dining hall veranda.
Daily yoga conducted by Mike Ritlop, a hot and sunny Endurathon Day, two presentations by noted sports nutritionist Nancy Clark, fast and furious relay action at the track and plenty of beautiful miles on trails and dirt roads made our week sing. Everyone's inner Olympian emerged during the 4 X 400 relay and we did Team USA one better: there were no dropped batons! I lost count of the number of post-run dock jumps we did, how many jokes Jules Winkler told that had us bent over laughing and how many times I looked around to see groups of pals running, laughing and talking. See you next year Friends!
