GRP Biathletes Post Standout Results at First World Cup

Susan Dunklee, Emily Dreissigacker, and Clare Egan kicked off their race season at the first Biathlon World Cup in Pokljuka, Slovenia. The first World Cup event of the season is always a relay. Clare and Susan, along with USBA teammates Leif Nordgren and Sean Doherty, placed 15th in the mixed relay. Susan scrambled for the team and, despite an unfortunate crash in which she lost a ski, she had a strong leg shooting clean in both stages and using a total of 2 spares. Susan tagged off to Clare who also shot clean and used three spares. The team had no penalty laps and used a total of 9 spares.

The next event was an individual race. Susan had an impressive race finishing 11th with only 1 miss in her final stage. Clare placed 60th with 5 misses and Emily Dreissigacker 69th with 4 misses. ...

GRP Ski Weekend Wrap-Up: Beitostolen World Cup and Silver Star NorAm

This past weekend, the GRP skiers continued a run of good results at the World Cup in Beitostolen, Norway, and in a combined SuperTour/NorAm weekend in Silver Star, British Columbia.

Beitostolen World Cup

Saturday brought a fairly unusual format for World Cup cross country, a 15/30k individual start freestyle race. Usually individual starts tend to be shorter, and a 30k individual is a rare occurrence on the World Cup. However, the GRP skiers were up to the challenge! Caitlin Patterson posted another solid result in 32nd place in the 15k. Kaitlynn Miller took 50th. In the men's 30k race, Adam Martin had a solid result in 59th place. The following day brought the first relay competition of the season. In the women's 4x5k relay, Caitlin Patterson skied the third leg for the USA I team ...
