Hill Farmstead Half Marathon - June 9

Craftsbury Outdoor Center presents the "Hill Farmstead Half" - a point to point trail and dirt road half marathon from the Craftsbury Outdoor Center to Hill Farmstead Brewery. Race entries raise money for Green Mountain Farm to School's mission to strengthen local food systems in the NEK by promoting positive economic and educational relationships among schools, farms, and communities. 

Set off with your fellow runners at 9:30, Saturday, June 9 and head into the rolling singletrack and ski trails of the Craftsbury Outdoor Center, accessing the scenic dirt roads of Craftsbury, including a class IV section of road as you climb to Greensboro and Hill Farmstead. Two Athletes to Join Summer Collegiate Ski Program at Craftsbury

The Outdoor Center is excited to welcome two athletes to our collegiate training program for the summer of 2018: Evelina Sutro from University of Vermont (UVM), and Johanna Taliharm from Montana State University (MSU). Summer collegiate athletes spend several months in Craftsbury training with the Green Racing Project ski and biathlon teams and working at the Outdoor Center, and then continue on with their collegiate teams for the fall and winter season. 
Evelina is originally from Carbondale, Colorado, but as a dual Swedish-American citizen, she lived in Mora, Sweden and raced for IFK Mora SK throughout high school. She recently finished her freshman year at UVM, where she is majoring in Health Science. During her first collegiate season, she had several EISA Carnival podiums and ...

Fitness & Fun for mature adventurers

Join COC staff for guided fitness sessions and modest adventures for the 55+ crowd, three Friday afternoons this summer! 

May 18: Tour the Center and enjoy guided spring walk on the trail system. We’ll walk rain or shine – so come prepared!
June 8: Green Racing Team athlete, Hallie Grossman will lead us in stretches and a circuit designed to introduce us to the Center’s fitness equipment. Improve balance and stamina! Bring indoor shoes for the gym.
June 22: The flowers will be blooming and we’ll explore the Center trails to learn more about these spring beauties – bring a small pack or bag and a water bottle!

All sessions run from 1:00-2:30pm and meet on the Activity Center deck at the Center - pack a lunch and arrive early to enjoy a picnic! Bus transportation available from ...

New camp: Trail Running

September 2-8, 2018/ 7 Days - $1,135 

Keep summer rolling into September at trail running camp! This 7-day camp will focus on getting athletes into the rugged Green Mountains and winding singletrack of Northern Vermont. Prepping for your next ultra race? Want to take your first steps into the mountains? Athletes at all levels of experience are welcome.

The week will include instruction in trail-specific workouts and presentations on hydration, fueling, prep and recovery for ultras and trail runs. Athletes will enjoy coaching from experienced trail runners and days filled with adventure runs, muddy legs, and locally sourced meals, with some well deserved R&R in between. GRP Ski and Biathlon 2018-2019

The Green Racing Project ski and biathlon programs are excited to announce the addition of five new athletes for the 2018-2019 season: biathletes Jake Brown, Kelsey Dickinson, and Raleigh Goessling, and skiers Corey Stock and Akeo Mayfield-Carucci.

Jake Brown is originally from Saint Paul, Minnesota where he grew up skiing for Minnehaha High School and the Loppet Nordic Racing team. He went on to ski for both St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN, and Northern Michigan University. The highlight of his collegiate career was an All-American finish in the 10k freestyle at 2016 NCAA’s. After graduation, Brown began competing in the sport of biathlon. He raced on the 2017-2018 IBU Cup Team, and is currently a member of the USBA Senior Men’s Development Team. Whatever your plan, we can help with equipment, facility time, cross-training, professional services (projectors and IT needs), lodging and even coaching - whatever your group needs.

Summer Dryland 2018

In addition to our popular summer BKL camps and junior ski camps, we offer annual members dryland training programs for skiers ages 8 to 98! Our sessions for younger kids focus primarily on being active, having fun, and working on fundamentals. As skiers move up through our programs, they embark on more focused training, including rollerskiing, running, strength, and more. Don't forget that Craftsbury Outdoor Center Membership is a prerequisite for registering in our summer training programs!

2018 CommRow

Community Rowing is back (and better than ever)! CommRow will be expanding to four afternoons a week this summer, running Monday-Thursday from mid-May through the end of September. The first date for returning CommRowers will be Monday, May 14th, at 4:30 PM. First time CommRowers and beginners (one year of sculling experience or less) are welcome to attend on Wednesdays starting on Wednesday, May 30th!
