This Weekend: 2018 Mud n' Ice Quadrathlon

Last Updated: 12.Apr.2018

The fabled race is back Sunday, April 22! It's Craftsbury groomer Keith Woodward's favorite race (he also doubles as course designer and chief organizer). The exact course is TBD as the day draws nigh, but the plan is that you'll start your day on our ski trails with ~9k freestyle, followed by ~5 miles of running, a ~5 mile paddle, capped with a 12mi bike on lovely Kingdom dirt roads in mud season. 10:00am start.

Map of planned routes (see pages of pdf for individual legs)
Note:  Wylie Hill (run leg) remains mostly frozen for the half mile descent (where the road is unmaintained during winter). Exercise caution when running, and DO NOT try to drive up or down it. Access transition area #2 from Rt 14.

Enter online via SkiReg, registration opens Friday, March 13.

Race weekend, only the cabins will be available (no meals included). Adding to the offseason lodging rate bargain? Craftsbury houseguests race the Mud n' Ice for FREE - email us for a code to enter at checkout.

What boat can I use? Whatever you want that's human powered. Results will not be broken out by boat category, though creative/hard-core options will earn our respect.

Post race lunch at Activity Center. Awards kick off at 2:00pm. Overall awards, plus age/gender groups for solo (though we reserve the right to combine categories in the event of low turnout).
