Craftsbury on the Podium at the Loon Mountain Race
Last Updated: 09.Jul.2019
For the second year in a row, Craftsbury athletes took on the Loon Mountain Race in Lincoln, New Hampshire. In this challenging uphill running race, competitors cover 6.6 miles and gain 3,125 feet of elevation, with an average slope of 14%. There is a notoriously steep section that ascends a black diamond alpine ski trail. This grueling course profile did not deter Craftsbury folks from laying down fast times and claiming podium spots! In the men’s race, GRP skier Adam Martin finished an impressive 2nd, followed by GRP biathlete Raleigh Goessling in 7th. Bike shop expert Xavier Koontz-Miller was a last minute addition to the race and finished 192nd. On the women’s side, college summer training partner Rena Schwartz took the win by 54 seconds, while U23 summer athlete Evelina Sutro was 6th. Summer athlete Johanna Taliharm was 15th, while U23 summer athlete Alexandra Lawson was 20th. See full results here.
