Feldenkrais at Craftsbury
Craftsbury massage therapist Kimberly Howell welcomes members, guests and the local community to her Feldenkrais class. The Feldenkrais Method® is a movement practice developed by Israeli scientist and martial artist Moshe Feldenkrais, and offers practitioners both an approach to improved health and bodily function as well as an excellent complement to yoga, physical or occupational therapy.
One may choose to attend class to enhance performance, recover from injury, or regain some lost function. Students will be guided verbally through a series of movements as they lie on a mat, sit on a chair, or stand. Each class focuses on a particular function like rotation, or a movement pattern, like walking or sitting. You will learn to organize yourself to move with greater ease and comfort, improve coordination, range of motion, and balance. Becoming aware of, and attending to, how you move, you will discover that you can do whatever you want.
Classes are held Wednesdays in the Cedar Multi-Purpose Room - check calendar for current time. To register, email Kimberly. Drop-ins are welcome if space permits. Cost is $10 for non-members, $5 for members (COC punch cards available) and free to guests and staff.
