Interview with Craig Wiggers on his Biathlon Journey

In January 2019 Craig Wiggers decided he needed a new hobby. Originally hailing from Alabama and now living with his family in Ithaca, New York, Wiggers decided that not only was he going to learn to cross-country ski, he was going to go one step further to become a full fledged biathlete. Wiggers wrote a book about his experience titled Nordic Warrior? A Midlife Crisis in Biathlon. In the book he seeks to make biathlon more accessible to beginners by sharing his experience learning a challenging sport. Hilarious anecdotes abound in this heart-warming work as Wiggers grapples with what at times seems like a daunting task, but just as important are the insights into the New York biathlon community that readily welcomes Wiggers into their fold.

Green Racing Project Biathlete Kelsey Dickinson sat down with Wiggers recently to interview him on his journey into biathlon, how the sport now fits into his life, and countless other topics on the Nordic Nation podcast, hosted by FasterSkier.
