The Craftsbury Historical Society seeks to preserve and foster the history and spirit of the Town of Craftsbury and surrounding area. The Craftsbury Historical Society’s collection of artifacts and records is the most comprehensive and relevant archive of the people, structures, events, and culture of the area.

The Society's major functions are to locate, collect, and preserve local and regional artifacts. The Society shares historical information, as well as materials, with the public in various ways. Access to the Society’s artifacts by the public became a reality with the opening of the Babcock House Museum in 2004. Public facilities include a meeting room, exhibit space, office/kitchenette, rest room, and spacious storage in the basement. Furthermore, the building is ADA compliant. Open since 2004, we are very pleased to welcome our neighbors from Craftsbury and surrounding towns, as well as visitors from all over North America and abroad.

The Historical Society is open Wednesday and Saturday from 10:00am to noon and has a table at the Craftsbury Farmer’s Market each Saturday from 10:00am till 1:00pm.
