Marked Singletrack Loop: Upland Hardscrabble

One of the tradeoffs in laying out a trail system as a group of segments is that creating loops from that can read like an index: “It’s real simple: just go Upper field to Ten Tonne truck to Ollie’s to Who’s Ollie to…” Even working here and using the trails regularly, it can make one’s eyes glaze over.

In an effort to make loop navigation a bit easier, we’ve started marking some loops with permanent arrows. The first one offers more experienced riders a taste of most of our more technical sectors - Gnarnia - and is named Upland Hardscrabble.

The loop starts with a warmup on the flow-y Ollie’s Folly before getting into the hand built sectors of the Center before climbing back up to the Upper Field, Activity Center and Biathlon Range.
