The right playlist can bring energy to an otherwise average run or workout. And while we’d admittedly rather spend our runs catching up with friends, it’s not always possible to have a running buddy, especially in the age of covid. This is where some headphones and bumpin’ tunes come in.

We’ve put together several playlists depending on the type of workout: ‘Loopin’ was curated for long hours spent on the new Craftsbury rollerski loop, and we’d suggest it for both training runs and gym sessions. ‘Country Biceps’ and ‘Disney Dumbbells’ are themed playlists made to mix up your usual gym music so that you don’t end up listening to the same songs workout after workout. We also love an occasional early 2000s throwback workout mix to keep us on our toes (cue ‘Shameless Throwbacks’). Lastly, we have an interval playlist entitled “deep pain cave only” for when you need extra motivation to dig deeper and push even harder.

We had fun making these playlists, and have found them to bring the entire GRP together in the gym. We’re always on the lookout for new playlist themes and ways to listen to some forgotten tunes. Let us know what your favorite workout jams are or if you have any personal themed playlists of your own. Enjoy these Spotify mixes, and happy trails!

***WARNING! Some of these playlists do include songs with explicit lyrics.***

Playlist #1: Loopin’

For long runs, skis, or indoor workouts. For short runs too. Basically for any workout. We hit shuffle and head out the door without having to think about it. We’ve also used this as a pre-race pump-up playlist.

Playlist #2: deep pain cave only

We like this playlist for hard interval sessions, because the songs are upbeat and in-your-face and make us want to ski  just a little bit faster and push just a little bit harder. This playlist is perfect for indoor skierg, bike, or treadmill workouts when motivation isn’t as easy to find. Crank that volume UP!

Playlist #3: Country Biceps

Contrary to some of our teammates’ opinions, country can be played for any occasion… especially in the gym.

Playlist #4: Disney Dumbbells

Fun for the whole family to sing along to. It was also a hit with the GRP skiers in the gym this past week. The most upbeat Disney classics.

Playlist #5: Shameless Throwbacks

Only 90’s kids will remember.
