2023 U23 Summer Skiers and Biathletes

The U23 summer snow team has already been hard at work. A mix of xc skiers and biathletes, this group brings energy, talent, and commitment to the Craftsbury community. Please join us in welcoming them for the rest of the summer season.

Grace Castonguay

Originally from Jackson, NH, Grace attends Saint Michael's College where she’s majoring in Economics with a minor in Accounting

She says, "I am thrilled to have access to all the wonderful opportunities, facilities, and coaching that Craftsbury and the GRP provide to further its athletes. I am excited to work with my teammates this summer both in training and while working around the outdoor center."

Emma Stertz

Emma is from Grand Rapids, MN. She studies secondary social studies education and history at the College of St. Scholastica.

She says, “I'm super pumped to be back in Craftsbury for a second summer and excited to have such a big U23 group to train with! I really like getting involved with the kids programs that Craftsbury puts on, like Bike Club and Junior Biathlon.”

Finn Sweet

Studying ecological agriculture at UVM, Finn is from Waterbury Center, VT.

He says, “This summer I am looking forward to training with a motivated and fun group! For work hours, I am excited to work on some improvements and maintenance of the singletrack.”

Sophia Wilson

Sophia’s hometown is Canmore, Alberta. She’s going to MSU but skiing for BSF.

“I’m looking forward to training with new people and exploring Vermont,” she says. “I’m excited to help with the BKL practices and anything else that the Outdoor Centre needs help with.

Jack Young

Jack is from Jay, VT. He’s studying education at Colby College.

'“I am looking forward to the lack of wildfires and water scarcity in northern VT,” he says.

Jack Christner

Studying sustainable architecture at Middlebury College, Jack is originally from Ripton, VT.

He lives by the motto, “keep it simple stupid.”

Tim Cobb

Tim Cobb, a biathlete from Westford, VT, is attending MSU while studying kinesiology.

He says, ”I’m looking forward to training with a good group and working with the community.”

Brian Bushey

Brian, a Vermont native from Montpelier, attends the University of Utah. He’s studying environmental and sustainability studies. 

“I’m looking forward to a ton of good training and laughs with the group this summer and hopefully the chance to help and give back to the Outdoor Center by doing anything from trail work to housecleaning,” he says.

Francesca Kitch

From Belmont, MA, Francesca attends Williams College where she is pre-med.

She says, “I’m looking forward to enjoying the beautiful Craftsbury summer and training with a group of dedicated skiers! I am hoping to contribute to coaching younger athletes this summer as well.”

Quincy Massey-Bierman

Quincy is from Burlington, VT and studies earth and climate science and studio art at Middlebury College.

She says, “I’m excited to keep gain train rolling. Also to continue working in the kitchen.”

Ben Boelter

Ben, from Sartell, MN, goes to the College of St. Scholastica as a communications major. 

He says, “I’m excited to train with a good group of people  and I have so far been helping clear tail for a bike race along side splitting and stacking wood.”

Maggie McGee

Maggie is from Hyde Park, VT and skis at Colby College.

Tzevi Schwartz

Tzevi grew up in the Craftsbury junior program and attended U-32 high school. He’s originally from Middlesex, VT and skis for Williams College.
