CCDP is back for the summer of 2024!

Modeled after our successful junior Nordic ski racing programs (and with a nod to the Green Racing Project’s name), the Craftsbury Cycling Development Project (CCDP) is a youth mountain bike race team participating in the Vermont Youth Cycling league races.

The CCDP’s goal is to introduce local riders to cross country and enduro mountain bike racing in a supervised, low-key environment that is focused more on fun and skill development than race results. Many of our riders are also avid XC ski racers and most are also competing in an organized school sport. We host one practice each week and accompany athletes to the VTYC races around the state.

All riders 5th grade and older are welcome to join the CCDP, whether you’re relatively new to the sport of mountain biking or you’re a seasoned racer. All we ask is that all team members try at least one race over the course of the season.

Summer practices are held once each week on Thursdays at 4:00pm. Each practice will focus on specific skill development (pumping, cornering, line choice, technical climbing) or building fitness through interval sessions to get ready for racing.

For the summer of 2024 the CCDP program will cost $150 (in addition to race entries or VTYC league membership) and will run from June 20th to August 22 (10 weeks, with the fall program starting September 4th).
