Awards

We don’t have a formal awards ceremony planned, but if you win your category, please stop by the bib pick-up station to grab a small treat!

Notes

U13/15 & U17

These age groups will not carry their rifle on course. They will pick up rifles at the range entrance and drop them at the range exit. Racers MUST come to a complete stop and fully have the rifle on before skiing away. Bolts must be left open on the rack. Race staff will help carry rifles back to racks at range entrance.

Coaches are allowed to help their U13/15 athletes at mat if needed during the race, but should not impede any competitors.

Masters Mass Start

We are very excited to try out the IBU’s new Mass Start 60 format for masters racers on Saturday! This format has potential to allow us to accommodate bigger field sizes on small ranges like ours.

  • All masters (men and women) will start at once.

  • Competitors will do 6 laps of a 1.5 k course (instead of 5 laps of a 2 K)

  • Half the field will do a double loop AFTER shooting 1. The other half of the field will start with a double loop BEFORE shooting 1.

  • Your shooting/loop pattern will be assigned on the start list. We will also have different color bibs representing the different patterns to help racers and volunteers

  • For the double loop, the lane will turn right before the range and go through start area back out onto the 1.5 k.

  • All shooting will be file-in with range staff helping direct.

  • As the first standing shooters start to arrive, we will keep some prone points open on the higher points until everyone has finished P. The lower points will be set to S. There will be a range divider set partway on the range and marked with an orange flag.

Pattern 1: Single Loop First

Loop – Prone –DOUBLE LOOP– Prone – Loop – Standing – Loop – Standing – Loop

Pattern 2: Double Loop First

DOUBLE LOOP – Prone – Loop – Prone – Loop – Standing – Loop – Standing – Loop
