Information we collect

We maintain personal information only for business use of the Outdoor Center. This includes program registrations, lodging and dining reservations, retail sales, and race registrations.

The Craftsbury Outdoor Center collects and maintains personally identifiable information provided by users, which may include: name, address, gender, birthdate, telephone number, and email address, along with special diet preferences and rowing, skiing, and running club affiliations. Other information may be collected and maintained for specific purposes, such as a NENSA # for ski race registration, skill level for rowing program registration, or transportation preferences.

Email newsletters & marketing communications

If you sign up for one of our email newsletters (including our member eNews, Sculling eNews, or other sport-specific eNews lists), we collect your email address to send you the newsletter(s) you requested. We use a third-party email service provider to send these communications and to store your contact information and communication preferences on our behalf; this provider does not use your information for its own marketing purposes.

We may add your email address to one or more of our newsletter lists based on your relationship with us — for example, if you've stayed with us, registered for a program or camp, joined as a member, or signed up directly through one of our online forms. Every newsletter includes a link to unsubscribe or update your preferences at any time, and you're welcome to contact us directly (see "Questions" below) to be removed from a list or to ask what information we have on file for you.

Children & minors

Our email newsletters and marketing communications are intended for adults (18 years of age and older). We do not knowingly collect email addresses from children under 13 for marketing purposes. For youth programs and camps where a participant may be under 18, we ask that a parent or guardian provide their own email address for any program communications or marketing sign-up, rather than the minor's.

Third parties & service providers

We do not sell or rent personally identifiable information about our users or guests. We share information with trusted service providers who help us operate our business - for example, tools that send email and text communications, process reservations and collect guest preferences, and handle payments. These providers are only permitted to use your information to perform these services on our behalf. We do not otherwise provide personally identifiable information about our users or guests to a third party without your prior permission.

Certain events, such as races, may involve additional terms — including sharing of participant information with event sponsors — which will be disclosed specifically at the time of registration for that event.
