EVERYONE:
Winter gear return: Hopefully you’ve returned your winter-long rental equipment to the clubhouse at this point, as the May 1 deadline has passed. If you haven’t, you get a few more days before we start to grumpily hassle you about it, and that period only lasts a few days before we just charge you for it. Please don’t make us grumpy and just return the dang things before we wade through our rental data and figure out who’s late.
Summer gear rentals: juniors, please read through the new rollerski rental policy that was sent out last month. U14 families may find it useful too, so you know what’s coming. The TL;DR version: we’re moving towards not renting much rollerski gear past a skier’s freshman year of high school. You still can this year, but read that policy for details.
Registration for summer training programs: is open via your membership portal. Please make sure you’re registered before you come to practices, with the exception being if you’re waiting on us for scholarship requests. Thanks!
JUNIORS:
First practice of the new training year is Wednesday, 5/6. Woot! Did you miss us?! We know lots of you have spring sports going on at school; ski club practices this time of year are aimed at giving you the kinds of training we don’t think you’re already getting. If we’re missing the mark, please tell us.
Elmore time trial this Sunday! It’s early this year, but we want to start things off with a bang. The GRP will be joining us.
End-of-season survey and goal-setting: please fill it out! At the end you’ll be prompted to pick a time to meet with us, where we’ll go over your goals and how we can help get you there. We’ll do these meetings on a rolling basis through mid-June.
Rollerskis: Given our new rollerski rental policy, we want to give you some time to figure out what you’re doing, but also give you a deadline. Our first rollerski practice of the year will be Sunday, May 24.
Training logs: everyone who kept a log last year, or who has already asked for one, should have a new tab for this year in their existing log. Holler at us if you don’t have one yet, with your Google-Drive-capable email address.
Spring meeting: this will be on Sunday, May 17th, at 11am, and is REQUIRED for junior skiers + at least one parent.
Training plan structure this year: we’ll talk about this at the team meeting, but if you click the “26-27 year” tab of the training plan below, you’ll see the rough plan for the year. Some of you may notice that there’s much less periodization and a lot more weeks that look the same. That’s on purpose as we try to focus on consistency of good training in the midst of all the various other things you have going on. The yearly plan is meant to be a basic outline.
Useful dates for this summer & beyond: if you like to plan waaaay ahead, check the yealry tab on the plan. Eastern Cup venues aren’t totally dialed in yet, but dates are pretty close to being finalized.
U14s:
No practice for you yet; your start date is 5/13!
BIATHLETES:
Junior biathlon practices start on Wednesday 5/6; U14s start on 5/13
