2026 Genny Tenny

  • Craftsbury Outdoor Center 535 Lost Nation Road Craftsbury Common, VT, 05827 United States (map)

On Sunday, June 7th, join us for the seventh annual Genny Tenny fundraiser, a point-to-point dirt road race connecting the communities of Craftsbury and Albany! We'll be offering both a nearly 10-mile and a family-friendly 5-kilometer course options, including a walk category for the 5k. The almost 10-mile run loosely connects the two Gennys, starting in Craftsbury Village on Creek Road and ending in Albany village on Water Street. The 5k course will start at the top of Pitkin Rd (near mile 7 of the 10-mile course) and will also finish at the Albany Genny. 5k participants can choose to sign-up for either the walk or the run. After the finish, we'll celebrate with a post-race party and brunch! This event is sponsored by the Craftsbury Outdoor Center and The Genny as a fundraiser for the Albany Community Trust

Food at the finish (included in race registration fee) will feature pizzas from the Albany General Store. There will be a free shuttle to the start lines (to Craftsbury Village for the 10-mile, top of Pitkin Road for the 5km) from parking at the Albany Community School before the race.

Your entry gets you:

  • Donation supporting the Albany Community Trust

  • Shuttle from Albany Community School parking to the start pre-race

  • Post-race food from Albany General Store

  • On course feed (10-mile event only)

Registration Details

10-mile - $40
5k - $30

Are you under-18? We'll take $20 off your registration fee when you enter a corresponding birth date.

Online at Runreg.com only. Sign up now! Reg closes at 6pm, Saturday, June 6. There may be day-of registration, depending on internet connectivity. More details to follow.

Bib Pickup

All bib pickup will be at the Albany Community School, beginning at 8am on race day.

Course
The course will be slightly changed for 2026. We will now finish on Water Street in Albany (to avoid any running on Rt 14). The 10 miler will begin at the Catholic church in Craftsbury village and add a short jog up King Farm Road, onto Young Road, and then back onto Creek Road to make up distance lost by adjusting the start and finish.

*ALL ROADS WILL REMAIN OPEN FOR THE DURATION OF THE RACE! All racers must run on the left side of the road facing traffic and no more than two abreast. Please run single file as cars approach, and check both ways when making a road crossing. Participants must follow all typical traffic rules.

10-mile: The majority of the course is on rolling dirt roads. There is a mile-long section of Class IV (unmaintained) road at mile 7-8.

5k: This course will start near the 7-mile mark of the 10-mile course and go directly into a section of Class IV road (not suitable for strollers). It will feature a significant net downhill profile.

Note on dogs: while we love your furry friends, please don't bring them with you during the race. There will be a little too much going on with crowds of runners, kiddos, cars on the roads, etc.

Race Parking
We will offer parking at the Albany School (near the finish). We will only have shuttles before the race to take runners to the start in Craftsbury Village (10-mile) or to the top of Pitkin Road (5k). Please do not park in Craftsbury Village or on Pitkin Road. There is not space for race parking. The stores will be open during the race.

Getting to The Start

10-mile: Set your GPS to Our Lady of Fatima Church, Craftsbury, Vermont. There is not parking at the church. Please use shuttles from the Albany Community School.
5k start location will be at the top of Pitkin Road where it turns into Class IV. DO NOT try to drive to this location from Albany Center as the road is not maintained; it should be accessed from the Page Pond Road (south) side. There will be no parking available here, we ask all 5k racers to use the shuttle provided from the Albany Community School.

Getting to Albany (the finish)
Set your GPS to Main St, Albany, VT. (Parking is at Albany school, just a few hundred meters down the road from the race finish.)

Volunteering
Want to participate, but not run? Every event takes a lot of helping hands. We're going to need volunteers, and you'll get a tasty lunch out of the deal. Sign up to volunteer (sorry, under construction).
