2026 VPA State Championships - Classic Day at Craftsbury

People’s Academy skier Magnus Hayden on his way to a silver in the boys classic 5k at Craftsbury, February 24.

Over 30 Craftsbury Ski Club (CSC) members competed the VPA XC ski championship day 2 at Craftsbury, Tuesday, February 24th. Skiers race for their high school teams in this event, so it's a bit trickier to recognize club members - but there were some great performances!

Claire Serrano had the best day of the Craftsbury skiers, winning the overall girls' 5k interval start, and by extension taking the D2 championship for U-32. The D2 top ten was littered with CSC members as 5 of 10 athletes ski with Craftsbury in addition to their high school team. Top 5 girls' results:

D1:

3rd Tillie Lange, St J - 00:17:41.2
4th Anya Moriarty, St J - 00:18:03.9

D2:

1st Claire Serrano, U-32 - 00:16:29.3
4th Adele Pritchard, MHS - 00:17:53.2

On the boys side, the top ten was even more choked with CSC members, as 7 of 10 athletes skied with Craftsbury in addition to their high school. Top 5 boys' results:

D2:

2nd Magnus Hayden, PAHS - 00:15:14.9
3rd Isaac Nadzam, MHS - 00:15:22.5
5th Christopher Graupe, SHS - 00:15:46.3
