Training week of 3/16
[Back to the Club Updates page]
EVERYONE:
All ski groups are pretty much done for the season. What a winter! Thanks for being a part of it. When we have started to wrap our heads around summer, we’ll let you know.
Useful dates:
World Cup Finals: March 20-22 @ Lake Placid
End-of-season all-club potluck + relays: Tuesday, March 24, sometime ~4pm
SuperTour Finals: March 27-29 @ Craftsbury - Info here.
Cochran’s Nordic X: April 4
Mud ‘n’ Ice: April 11
JUNIORS:
Way to crush it, all of you who finished out the season with so much racing!
There isn’t really practice this week. Anna is stuck in Minneapolis, Audrey and Susan are coming home (hopefully) from Italy, Ollie and Rick are in Lake Placid, and Jake is probably just plain running out of things to do with you. Plus we’re leaving Thursday for WCF. Do a little training OYO and reach out if you need us to guide you.
World Cup Finals: more detailed plans coming as soon as Anna can wrap her lil brain around them. Parental units, kindly prepare yourselves to send along some food!
SuperTour Finals: Craftsbury is the last stop of the year for the highest level of domestic racing! Info here. We’re hoping to get a whole pile of you racing in Saturday’s relays (snow permitting) and some of you may enjoy trying a 20k Sunday. Registration here.
Oak Hill trip billing: the only chance of this happening promptly is the fact that Anna is stranded in the midwest with nothing more to do than stress about flights and make hotel room microwaved nachos
About summer: this year we’ll be requiring some degree of summer training for kids who want to do the Eastern Cup circuit in the winter. We’re also going to begin phasing out rollerski equipment rentals for juniors. More to come on both of those subjects, but consider this a heads up.
BIATHLETES:
BKLers
That’s a wrap- Thanks for a fun season everyone!
Adults
We’re done for the season!
Jrs/U14s
Stay tuned. Anna has been told that you’re a bunch of tired noodles who could use a break; Susan is traveling home from Europe and is therefore unable to coordinate. At the moment we are not planning on offering a biathlon practice this week; will let you know if that changes. Eyeball Slack for updates.
About Summer: We offer weekly summer BKL, Jr/U14 and Adult biathlon programs. Sign-ups open later in the spring once we get through the chaos of the last few ski race weeks. This year we’ll be requiring some degree of summer biathlon training for kids who want to do our Jr/U14 biathlon program during the winter. Stay tuned for more info.
Racing opportunities (for adults and Jr/U14s)
Fort Kent, ME: rescheduled to March 28-29. Add your name if you plan to come.
