[Back to the Club Updates page]
EVERYONE:
End-of-season potluck/relays/celebration!
In brief:
Tuesday, March 24
Arrival by 4:00pm, relays (technique of choice) starting as soon as possible after that (typically 4:15-4:30pm)
Potluck bit typically starts around 5:00pm
Wrap up by 6/6:30ish.
More details:
Skiing part:
This is as low-key as it can get (no bibs, no timing, questionable finish line/lap counting, likely some coach cheating). We will have short relay with mixed teams that are made on the spot. Coaches will help put together teams on arrival with members of our BKL, Juniors, and Masters programs. And maybe some GRP skiers, too! Including some fresh off the World Cup?!
Technique of choice
Parents welcome to join
Costumes encouraged (we’ll have our costume boxes out) but certainly not required. Good cheering is a great alternative to dressing up - don't feel obligated to wear your silly on the outside.
Need to borrow some equipment for the relays? Come early (by 3:30ish) and find Kara or Molly, who will hook you up.
Potluck
Drop food items in the Touring Center prior to the relays
No food signup or anything—if we wind up with 37 trays of brownies for dinner, well, worse things have happened
There are limited plug stations for crock pots, but we do have a few
Please bring your own serving utensils
Consider bringing your own cups, silverware and plates to and from the potluck to help us cut down on paper and plastic product use
We will have some disposable plates/utensils/etc… though sometimes we run out and everyone has to eat salad with a spoon
Other things
Season-long rental equipment can be returned tomorrow if you want—it all goes back to the CLUBHOUSE
But you’re also welcome to hang on to equipment for as long as there’s decent snow. The “have it back or face threats of having to pay for all of it” deadline is May 1, but typically we get a lot of stuff in early April. It’s a self-return sort of scheme.
This weekend is NOT a great time to return rental equipment, as the clubhouse will be busy for SuperTour Finals, but if that’s the only time you can get it back, we’ll deal with it/have an area to receive it
No, we don’t have info lined up about summer camps, practice days, etc., yet. We’ll get it to everyone once we do.
Useful dates:
SuperTour Finals: March 27-29 @ Craftsbury - Info here. Sprint heats on Friday afternoon should be prettttty fun to watch!

JUNIORS:
World Cup FInals - wow, what a time! Shoutout to all the parents who made/donated food and also helped with cleaning, etc.
Wednesday practice: note the later start time, now that it’s light out so late.
SuperTour Finals:
It’s the last bit of racing around here! Info here.
Relays: if you want to do relays, that’s awesome. You should enter the non-championship category unless coaches have talked to you about racing with the GRP. It’s kinda pricey but it does include lunch. You should try to come up with a relay team before you register so you’re not stuck without a team. Talk to coaches if you need help finding teammates. Registration here. It closes Wednesday.
Invoices for all the trips: don’t worry, we’re eager to recoup our $ and will get it from you at some point.
About summer: this year we’ll be requiring some degree of summer training for kids who want to do the Eastern Cup circuit in the winter. We’re also going to begin phasing out rollerski equipment rentals for juniors. More to come on both of those subjects, but consider this a heads up.
BIATHLETES:
Jrs/U14s
Those of you going to Fort Kent should know who you are/have the info packet at this point
Joint ski/biathlon practice Weds @ 4pm
About Summer: We offer weekly summer BKL, Jr/U14 and Adult biathlon programs. Sign-ups open later in the spring once we get through the chaos of the last few ski race weeks. This year we’ll be requiring some degree of summer biathlon training for kids who want to do our Jr/U14 biathlon program during the winter. Stay tuned for more info.
Racing opportunities (for adults and Jr/U14s)
