Training week of 5/18
[Back to the Club Updates page]
EVERYONE:
Registration for summer training programs: is open via your membership portal. Hop to it, please.
JUNIORS:
Today’s meeting: thanks for coming. For the few who couldn’t be there, we’ll send out notes soon.
End-of-season survey and goal-setting: if you haven’t yet done this, please fill it out! At the end you’ll be prompted to pick a time to meet with us, where we’ll go over your goals and how we can help get you there. We’ll do these meetings on a rolling basis through mid-June. If you’re a first-year junior this summer, please fill it out as if you were a junior, as it’s set up for everyone else to skip it (sorry; we’ll work on that next year).
Rollerskiing:
Please read through the new equipment rental policy.
Our first rollerski practice as a team of the year will be Sunday, May 24.
If you don’t yet have rental gear or need other help with stuff, plan to have practice run a little long so you can get in a reasonable chunk of training. There will likely be a whole clamor at the beginning of practice.
If you need new wheels, check out rollerskishop.com - they have the best deal on wheels and have conversion spacers to fit most brands.
Training logs: everyone who kept a log last year, or who has already asked for one, should have a new tab for this year in their existing log. Holler at us if you don’t have one yet, with your Google-Drive-capable email address.
Training plan structure this year: if you click the “26-27 year” tab of the training plan below, you’ll see the rough plan for the year. Some of you may notice that there’s much less periodization and a lot more weeks that look the same. That’s on purpose as we try to focus on consistency of good training in the midst of all the various other things you have going on. The yearly plan is meant to be a basic outline.
Useful dates for this summer & beyond: if you like to plan waaaay ahead, check the yearly tab on the plan. Eastern Cup venues aren’t totally dialed in yet, but dates are pretty close to being finalized.
U14s:
Way to crush it - we’re throwing you right in and you’re rising to the occasion!
MASTERS/ADULTS:
Normal week, with strength in the Event Barn.
BIATHLETES:
Normal practices this week for Jr, U14, Adults.
Jr Gatineau Trip May 22-24. Those of you signed up to go- find info here. More details will go in via email early in the week.
Weekly dryfire ideas (for those with rifles at home): Pick a position and do 3 by 3 minutes holds. Aim for 2 or 3 days.
