Know Before You Go

Check trail conditions before you go and observe trail closures. Not all Craftsbury Winter trails allow summer access, and vice versa.

Become a Member

Unlike winter, we don’t run a regularly staffed shop so grab a day membership or annual membership online, in advance. Access wifi from parking lot to pay on-site.

Signage

Carefully observe all trail signs and abide by restricted access boundaries and our landowner’s wishes on their private property.

Pavement is one way only and full of people without brakes

When crossing pay attention and yield to rollerskiers - those folks don’t have brakes. If riding along the pavement, ride in direction of travel, only at times allowed.

Leashed Dogs

Dogs must be on a physical leash on:

  • Woodward’s Wheelie

  • Moo Moo Farm

E-collars are acceptable elsewhere, with the exception of Ollie’s Folly and Who’s Ollie? - both are dog-free by landowner request.

e-Bikes

The Outdoor Center will permit the use of commercially-available Class 1 electric mountain bikes on our singletrack and summer-use ski trails. Class 1 bikes are those with only a low-speed pedal-assist motor, no throttle. These bikes have a motor that only engages when the user is pedaling and cuts off once the user reaches 20 mph. Other classes of e-bike, including after-market add-ons, are not permitted on Center trails.

Bike Shop & Rentals

Unlike the winter, our shop isn’t regularly staffed. As such, we don’t offer repair services. Given all the nearby full-service shops, you’re sure to find a shop to meet your needs.

We are offering a limited rental selection this year as the supply chain allows. Our bikes are from Cannondale. We have a range of mountain bikes, from 20” kids bikes to 27.5” and 29” - all with front suspension.

  Half-day Full-day
Kids' bikes $15 $20
Adult Bikes $30 $35
Member rate Annual members take 20% off
Helmets are included with all rentals. Helmet only rental is $5/day (Prices do not include VT sales tax)

Back in 2019 our friends at Bike the Borderlands put together this excellent video overview of what mountain biking is like at the Center.
