Join Vermont Woodlands Association (VMA), the Craftsbury Outdoor Center, and Forester Rick Morrill to explore the forests that sustain recreation at Craftsbury. On this woods tour we will walk and talk, uncovering how the organization balances sustainability, ecological forest management, and recreation. Forester Rick Morrill, along with Craftsbury staff, will lead a two-hour walk through the property highlighting forest management goals and strategies that help to meet these varied goals. After the walk there will be snacks and an opportunity to socialize.
This tour will include examples of the "triad approach" to forest management, ecological reserves, sustainable forestry practices, and small-scale intensive management that create a balanced management regime to support sustainable recreation.
