Singletrack Shootout #2: Results
A big thanks and congratulations to everyone who raced, and to the volunteers who staffed the range and the course, for the second Craftsbury Singletrack Shootout on Sunday, October 4. It was a pretty classic fall day at the Center that started chilly and warmed thru the day. Just over 100 athletes finished across the run and bike divisions, with Expert and Novice races in each, and the novice women's run was the biggest field of the day at 19 finishers.
Expert
Craftsbury swept the podium in the women's bike race, which also had the closest finish of the day. Tillie Lange and Pippa Abbene crossed just 4.1 seconds apart, with Lange taking the win in 34:29.9. Abbene had the tidiest shooting in the Expert field, with just one miss all day, and Aemilia Terrone rounded out the podium.
The men's bike podium was nearly as tight. Wayne Peterson (JXB) won in 32:05.3, and behind him Matt Williams and Bowman Suddaby (Craftsbury Ski Club) were separated by less than a second in the race for second, finishing in that order.
On the run side, Andrew Donohoe controlled the men's race, combining the fastest time (30:34.5) with just four misses to win by almost a minute and a half over Isaac Fellows (Ford Sayre). Oakley Crawford took third. Craftsbury went 1-2 in the women's run, with Amalie Pratt winning in 31:18.7 ahead of Hazel Morton-Lynch, and Christine Dillon (Ethan Allen Biathlon) took third. The club also went 1-2 in the expert kids' run, with Finn Nunery ahead of Graham Smith.
Novice
The Novice races were a family affair, with plenty of siblings, parents, and kids sharing the course. Clara Morton-Lynch and Rory Dillon both won kids' run races on the same day their family members were on the Expert podiums. Radek Kubala (MountainOPS) won the kids' bike race ahead of Nico Coleman (Sleepy Hollow BKL) and Emrys Yarbrough (Frost Mountain Nordic), and Ada Meyer (Ford Sayre) won the girls' bike race.
In the adult run races, Sue Holderness won the women's race ahead of Lauren Wardwell and Katie Kubala, Quin Woods topped the men ahead of Kyle Friis and Pete Johnson, and Sampson Alley won the nonbinary race. On bikes, Chris Burnham (NWVE) won the men's race ahead of Edward Meyer and Thomas Ebert. Clare Shamith won the women's race ahead of Christina Nick and Wren Frost, and Guv Levis won the nonbinary race.
A special shout-out goes to the novices who shot clean, missing zero targets: Lauren Wardwell, Sophie Yates, Anne Michaels, Leslie Martin, Alex DeFuso, Christine Rubino, Steven Palfreyman, Ciara O'Sullivan, Caleb Magoon, and Beowulf Yarbrough.

That wraps up the Singletrack Shootout series for 2026. Thanks again to everyone who spent part of their weekend with us, and we'll see you back on the range once the snow flies.
