CCD Returns this fall — Thursdays at 4:00pm, registration opens next week

Craftsbury Cycling Development (CCD), our youth mountain bike race team racing in the Vermont Youth Cycling league, is back and registration opens next week. Practices will be Thursdays at 4:00pm, open to riders 5th grade and up, willing to show up for at least one race, whether they're brand new to mountain biking or already racing hard.

This summer, CCD split into two groups for the first time:

• CCD 1 for rising 8th graders through seniors

• CCD 2 for rising 5th, 6th, and 7th graders riding alongside our Summer Bike Club program.

The split is to better accommodate tailoring instruction to where each age group is in terms of skill development.

Coaching is led by Ollie Burruss and Audrey Mangan (both PMBIA Level 1 trained) and Mike McCarthy, a former pro road and cyclocross racer, with a rotating cast of college-aged MTB racers pitching in as volunteers. And after years of asking, we finally have a team uniform — if you're on the team and want one, reach out to Ollie.
