Meet Sam Benzing, Summer '21 Coaching Intern

We’re excited to announce that Sam Benzing will be interning with our junior ski program coaching staff for the summer of 2021. Sam will be graduating from the College of Saint Scholastica in May with degrees in Exercise Physiology and Psychology. During her time at St. Scholastica, she was a four year member of the varsity ski team and served as captain her senior year. Sam took her passion for sports to the classroom while pursuing a degree in exercise physiology. While the majority of her classmates were on the pre-physical therapy track, Sam’s path has been molded in part by her coach (and former GRP skier!) Maria Stuber, who founded the Women’s Ski Coaches Association. Inspired by Maria, Sam interned at The Tucker Center for Research on Women and Girls in Sport during the summer of 2020. Sam originally hails from Boise, ID and while she loves the mountains and everything the west has to offer, she’ll be returning to the midwest this fall to pursue graduate school at The University of Minnesota Duluth. When she is not exercising or studying she loves spending time outside with her Dog, Lupine, and baking a variety of sweets. Welcome aboard, Sam!
