The Great Hill Quest: UPDATE

greathillquest_nobkg+(1).png

Update, 2020-08-21: Aggressive dog on Guy Lot Road climb. We are asking all Questers to please end Guy Lot Road before the original map indicates. There is a driveway to the right just before the top and the reported dog, so please end there. This end point is about 1.7-1.8 miles up from the bottom of the hill at Route 14, rather than the 2 miles on the original map. View a new map here.

If you are uncomfortable, please turn around earlier or omit this hill all together. This is a long long hill either way, so please do not continue to the "bitter end" of this hill - it is not worth it!

Update, 2020-08-08: Aggressive dog on Collinsville climb. Climb is no longer required to complete the quest. If you do choose to complete it, be sure to check out the updated map showing the location and exercise extreme caution.

The Great Hill Quest of 2020 begins! This eight week summer challenge takes on the biggest, toughest, and all around greatest hills in our local stomping grounds. Of the many noteworthy hills in the area, we’ve picked our favorite - or most feared - climbs for you to tackle. Gain points and fitness as you conquer a set of hills each week, with extra bonus workouts and challenges to make the weeks even better. Join the challenge, work your way through a series of serious hill climbing, and see if you can run (or walk) all 32 hills this summer!

The challenge home base is Craftsbury Village. All hills are within a 6 mile radius of Town Hall (or very close to it - we included Center Hill in Albany). Head over here for a full list of hills, suggested hill groupings, and maps to help you plan your outings.
