NENSA's annual Coaches Conference comes to the Center, November 14–15. This is a weekend designed for all coaches, from youth parent leaders to college coaches, to learn together in a community-centered environment.
The Rodrigues Sprints return to the Outdoor Center for another year of royal court sprint madness! There’s a full write up about the details of a royal court at the following link from 2024, but the short version is that racers get a qualifier race plus three rounds of sprint heats - every racer! 2024 Opener info.
The Kendall Classic returns to the Outdoor Center! After an excellent event down at the Rikert Outdoor Center in 2025, the annual FIS opener returns to its home in the NEK. This year the Kendall Classic (named in honor of New England ski luminary Tom Kendall) will be a freestyle individual start (we know, “Classic” is in the name, but bear with us!) to complement Saturday’s classic sprints at the Rodrigues event.
The Marathon Ski Festival is back for another fantastic weekend of cross country ski racing. The 2027 Festival will again be a stand-alone popular racing event, with techniques and distances for racers of all ages and abilities. Saturday brings the traditional classic Craftsbury Marathon, with short and long course options for open, college, and high school racers and a short course tour for BKL skiers and chaperones. We hope to have a 15k loop, allowing for a 45k long race and a 30k short race for the classic race on Saturday and 30k or 15k for the freestyle race on Sunday.
The best skiers in America return to the trails of the Craftsbury Outdoor Center for a three-day weekend of ski racing. Day one on Friday features SuperTour athletes and the top collegiate athletes in the region contesting a freestyle individual. Day two, Saturday, again combines the EISA college field with the U.S. Ski & Snowboard SuperTour, with everyone racing 20k classic mass starts starts. Day three, Sunday, is a SuperTour freestyle sprint.
The NENSA Club Relay Championships are back a month earlier than last year. Come show your club spirit, with different categories for combined ages of club participants (all ages from BKL to masters are welcome).
Whether you’ve been racing all winter or not, we hope you’ll gather your friends for what promises to be a fun day of friendly competition, camaraderie, and food to celebrate the end of the season!
It has been 30 years in the making, but the NCAA Skiing Championships are back at the Craftsbury Outdoor Center. The Center last played host to the Championships in 1997 when snow conditions forced a move from Stowe to the trails in Craftsbury Common. This time they’re ours from the outset. In 1997 Utah defeated UVM by a scant 39.5 point margin. Will the defending champion Utes secure another title? Or will the hometown Catamounts take their first team victory since 2012?

Rollerski racing returns to the paved trails of the Northeast Kingdom with the 2026 Lost Nation Roll. We are switching things up a little bit this year as we continue to work to make things safer for all racers.

The Outdoor Center is excited to again welcome the fastest skiers in North America to the Northeast Kingdom to wrap up the 2025/2026 race season. With three national championships on the line in the classic sprint (Friday), club relay (Saturday), and freestyle mass start (Sunday), the racing is sure to be exciting. Whether you want to compete or just watch the power and grace as some of the world’s best athletes tackle the challenging race trails at the Center, we hope you will join us in March.
