Training week of 2/16
[Back to the Club Updates page]
EVERYONE:
The training plan is here and below. Please fill out the attendance form at the start of each week.
JUNIORS:
Wow wow, the EC season is over. Take a few minutes to reflect on what has gone well so far and what you want to work on during the rest of the season. As coaches, we wrapped up today feeling proud of the way the team supported each other this weekend, eager to watch y’all stomp it at states and beyond, and full of ideas of the many things we want to work on in the months to come.
MNC skiathlon: most of you should not do this with states happening, but some of you (especially 8th graders who are skiing with juniors as U16s!) might really enjoy it! See the note in the U14 section below.
World Cup Finals: yep, you can see those Olympians racing in Lake Placid in late March. Anna booked a hotel over there last year. All of you, PLEASE fill out this form ASAP, even if your answer is that you definitely don’t want to go. Those of you planning to attend: you’ll also need to get tickets at some point. Info here. General admission is good.
SuperTour Finals: Craftsbury is the last stop of the year for the highest level of domestic racing! Info here. We’re hoping to get a whole pile of you racing in Saturday’s relays and some of you may enjoy trying a 20k Sunday. Registration here.
Useful dates:
State meets: Thurs 2/19 (skate @ Rikert) and Tues 2/24 (classic @ Craftsbury)
Junior Nationals: March 7-15 in Cable, WI
EHSC: March 6-9 @ Gore Mtn
U16s: March 13-15 @ Oak Hill
World Cup Finals: March 20-22 @ Lake Placid (more details coming soon!)
SuperTour Finals: March 27-29 @ Craftsbury
Reminder: toggle to the “25-26 year” tab at the bottom of the training plan to get a better sense of what’s ahead this winter.
U14s:
MNC skiathlon is this Sunday!
Info and registration here.
Some CSC coaches (probably Audrey and Ollie) will be taking a van from the Center and will be there to coach, help wax, etc. If taking the van will enable you to go, please email jrskiing@craftsbury.com for more details!
See the note above in the junior section about World Cup Finals. Priority goes to juniors for this one but if we have space we’ll take along some U14s if you’re really pumped about it! Go ahead and fill out the form if you’re into it.
BKL Festival:
We love to get our U14s racing at the Festival!
Big info pile coming soon.
In the meantime, if you wanna go, register (https://nensa.net/bkl-festival/) and try to pin down some lodging—it’s getting harder to find!
BKL:
Snacks before practice: parents, please remember to help your kids have a snack between school and practice! Hungry skiers are not generally the happiest or most focused skiers.
Older groups (Hares, Owls, Moose): your Tuesday practice is a little funky this week—please read the plan carefully and bring BOTH sets of equipment.
MNC skiathlon is this Sunday!

Some CSC coaches (probably Audrey and Ollie) will be taking a van from the Center and will be there to coach, help wax, etc. If taking the van is enticing to you, please email jrskiing@craftsbury.com for more details!
Parent Lessons: From Kara: “Parent lessons are coming soon! SO sorry for delays this season, and thanks for your patience with cold weather, the flu, and the amazing events that we've hosted at The Center this season! Saturday, Feb 21 there will be both a Classic AND a Skate lesson available to BKL Parents/Caregivers. The lessons will include free rentals for the duration of the lesson, available at the Touring Center. If you'd like to hang onto your gear for the remainder of the day, we ask that you go in and rent them after the lesson. There is no fee for the lesson - thanks for having your kids join us this season! Sign ups will appear on the BKL attendance form the Sunday prior to the Lesson date. You are welcome to participate in both lessons if you'd like! The Classic Lesson is at 9:30, the Skate will begin at 11:00, each session will last about an hour. Reminder that these lessons are for Adults only, please make arrangements for your littles so that we can really focus on you. Hope to see you all there!”
