Training week of 8/4

EVERYONE:

  • MONDAY + air quality: we have some Monday practices this week for groups that had cancellations on Sunday. It’s looking, however, like this smoke is sitting over us longer than originally expected, so we’ve modified the plans for Monday. Please be sure to take a look.

  • The training plan is here.

  • Don’t forget to fill out the attendance form.

JUNIORS:

  • Communication + planning: a number of you are going all different directions right now, between camps, other sports getting rolling, work, etc. Updating your logs and being proactive about communication with coaches helps us help you make the msot of training!

  • Wednesday: we have a community service/trailwork project at Beaver Meadow. Anna will send out more details as soon as she has them. We will be carrying a cast iron woodstove and some 20-foot pieces of lumber into the shelter, and who knows what else! Helping the Green Mountain Club is a great way for us to give back to the trails we use, AND it helps our club by waiving the day-use fees for group trail use.

  • Nutrition: Our next and last talk of the summer is this Friday, 8/8 @ 11:15am. Yes, all talks have different content.

  • Lake Placid Camp:

    • if you are going, or are a parent who wants all the nitty gritty (i.e., “I’m going with Zeb to Stewart’s to visit LaShawnda”) please join the Slack channel: #lake-placid-camp. It’s largely how we’ll communicate while there, with the understanding that not all kids have phones and that we’ll also have phone-free periods while at camp.

    • we’ll pin down the schedule more midweek as we get a firmer grasp on the forecast

    • THIS WEEK is the time to make sure all equipment, etc., is in good working order. Don’t wait until Sunday night.

U14s:

  • pretty regular week this week!

BKL:

  • Attendance form: pleeease fill it out. It really helps us plan!

  • Rollerskiing this week, yeehaw!

BIATHLETES:

  • Congrats to all who raced this weekend! Great work! Take a day or two off early this week, please.

  • No U17+ Wednesday practice, but Tuesday is open to all.

ADULTS/MASTERS:

  • Optional practice Monday, otherwise regular week.
